When I first cast on my first attempt at crochet, back during the Hand Emergency of '09, my main thought was only to keep creating without the pain in my left hand, not "Oo! I could make a cool matching set!" But, in the end, My First Crochet ended up being paired with My First Fair Isle to make this very cute set!
I like that it's not really "matchy matchy", just made in the same colours. The scarf is a little longer than you can see, with fringe on the end. Here's the hat inside out! Isn't it purdy?
Of course, neither have been blocked yet because I still haven't purchased blocking squares and have instead been using my bedroom mattress. Well... hmmm... the sheets probably should be washed today.... hehehe
Oh wow! Super cute!
ReplyDeleteI think it came out really nice! Good job!
ReplyDeleteI love it! Your fair isle work looks really great! Good job. :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree, I think it doesn't look really matchy matchy either; they look great together.
Oh gosh, you look adorable in that hat!! Wonderful job!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Thanks for your help today while I was being a nerd in the yarn aisle. :)
wow that hat is really well done for your first fair-isle. my first fair-isle was a disaster, the tension thing really got me. you must be a natural :)
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone!! I'm pretty pleased myself. Now... to gift it or to keep it? :)
ReplyDeleteLOL Not a problem at all Amy. Anytime! :)
Yup, there was an error and it kept saying that the comment couldn't be posted. And I kept trying, and I actually thought to myself, " I hope it's really not sending, because if it is, she is going to think I'm a psycho!" ;) I just wanted to say how much I love your color work! And thanks for showing the floats- I really think it's interesting to see the inside of color work.
