Disappointed.

I tried to knit a little today and only got about 12 stitches in before my knuckle started aching again. So much for just "knitting gently"... guess that won't work. *sigh*

  1. Aw, man, that sucks! I'm so sorry! What will you do!? I guess taking it easy will help the healing process, right? Just keep that in mind while your fingers itch with longing for yarn! Take care!

  4. Are you sure you haven't broken anything in the finger? I fell on my hand a few years ago, and broke a finger inside the palm, and it hurt like h*** for three days. Well, it actually hurt a lot longer, but after three days I finally went to the emergency room and got a cast. This was before I learned to knit, so luckily I wasn't hindered too much by the cast, but I shudder to think what I'd do if it happened today!

Could you try crocheting instead? I think it's probably easier to not involve a specific finger when you crochet than when you knit. Otherwise just try to rest it for a few days longer (boring, I know!).

  5. Thank you so much to everyone for your well wishes! No, it's definitely not anything broken because it's more a dull ache that a pain.

I like the idea of trying out some more serious crochet though... hmmmmm.... ;)

  6. do it! you can get ergonomical correct hooks, they are made for old ladies with a sicknesss called gigt in Danish, I have no idea what it is in English, but it's were your joints hurt and swell up...and they normally cost the same as regular hooks. I have one and I will never go back.

  7. Awww, baby girl. I"m sorry about your finger! Try soaking in warm water with ebsom salt. That will really help the swelling that is happening inside, and help it to heal faster :) As for the crocheting... it doesn't matter how much you like it, the needles are MINE! muahahah..
