{Oh My Gosh! So Excited!}

I have a BUNCH of stuff that's making me all excited this morning!

Alora Loves Her New Sweater! 

Who doesn't love this face?  Poor girl's been sick and teething as of late, hence the glassy eyes.  She's still adorable though!

When I embroidered on those flowers, I didn't anticipate that they'd become a play thing for her, but hey! Who's arguing? She can't pull them off, just pull them tight so they make for something fun to do while getting a fresh diaper and such. hehe

I Got A Birthday Package From Jenny!

It arrived looking like this and I was appropriately worried. lol  That little label on the top read "may have been delivered damaged."  GULP!   Not to fear though, everything inside was squishy and non-breakable!!

That GORGEOUS bag in the back was hand sewn by Jenny's sister, Sanna!  How gorgeous is that fabric?? It's going to be my new sewing notions bag! YAY!  There was of course tons of Chocolate to be had, but most didn't make it to the photo, unfortunately.  YUM  The green yarn is a 100% wool of Swedish origin called Kampes.  I think it's going to be my Christmas Tree skirt that I posted about in my book review!  (Jenny? I might need some red too! grin ) The Lin in the front is another Swedish yarn that I already had some of in my stash and had inquired about getting more through Jenny's LYS but held off because I didn't have anything planned for the yarn yet.  Well... ta da! :D  And the merino is from Drops- super soft!  I'll find a project to use it on for sure!

Then, I was putting everything away from the picture taking and found these guys hanging out in the bag! I missed them the first time and I was all like, "There's MORE??!?"

Thank you SO SO Much to Jenny and her sister Ana!! I feel so special to deserve a great birthday package like this one!! :D

Yesterday I was featured on the very popular home crafty blog, Tea Rose Home!  She really loved my 100% cotton baby sweater that I finished recently.  How cool is that??  Thanks Sachiko! 

{Alright. It has to be said.}

 I really dislike Word Verification. There. I said it.  It's not that I dislike the people who use Word Verification for posts on their blogs - they are super nice people, I'm sure!  I just really hate typing those stupid non-words, and I hate to admit it but sometimes? I just don't bother commenting.  I too fear spam on my blog but I just use the moderation option instead.     Makes me sound like a lazy bum doesn't it? lol

Alright, that's my two cents for today.  What's your opinion?

{An Update}

My Modern Log Cabin Blanket is coming along well.  I got to spend a couple hours in the car yetserday working on it.  I hate how you can't really see the colours, but it's a white, light purple, dark purple and a taupe colour.  Next will be a big band of white along the long edge at the top of the photo.

In other news, the next post I make will be my 200th post, and I'm wondering if I need to be doing something special for it.  I really would love to thank everyone for reading my blog!  I love that I've made some friends (both local and afar) and I love being a part of the knitting community online.  I learn something new every day!    It's not even my 1 year bloggoversary yet though, so maybe I'll save any celebration for then?

I've settled on my spring background. Isn't it pretty? :)

{Spring Is Here!}

It's our third day over 60 degrees here in southern Virginia, so I thought it might be safe now to put up my spring time background.

I'm not happy with the choices I've found out there though. My center blog column is actually a bit wider than most so a lot of backgrounds look awkward. I like backgrounds that are clean looking (as opposed to aged looking), and I wanted something fresh, flowery and kinda pastely without looking like it's an Easter theme. Is that too much to ask? Oh, and of course it has to be free. lol

This one will stay up for now because I've run out of time to search this morning. Where do you guys go for your backgrounds?

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all my followers. I've recently hit 60!! I think that sounds like a lot of people who take the time to check in and see how my knitting is going. Thank you also to everyone who makes time in their busy schedules to leave me a comment and give me advice when I'm struggling with a new concept - You all just make this whole knittnig experience worlds better. I can't believe how amazing the whole knitting community is.

So just... thank you. To all of you.

{Summary of Changes}

I finally settled on a background, then my header looked too clunky or something. I didn't think it said much about *me*, so instead I got to work with Picasa, Gimp and Photobucket and put together my new header.

I also changed my profile picture to one of Mr. Pie and I. So don't worry! That's still me! hehe

What do you guys think? I'm looking for honest criticism! I can take it, I promise!

Oh - and I need to ask your opinion. How do you guys feel about blogs that have frequently changing backgrounds? Sometimes it kinda throws me off and it makes the blog feel less... professional or something to me. But I guess my goal with this blog isn't to be professional looking, it's supposed to represent my style, right? I'm torn. I liked the clean look of before, but these backgrounds are just so fun! Please chime in and leave a comment if the fancy strikes you!

After some inspiration from a Blogger group on Ravelry, I decided to play around with some colours. What does everyone think? Constructive criticism welcome! I was looking for this to help photos pop more. Does it accomplish that? :)

This is one whole sweater's worth of recycled light fingering to fingering weight, 100% cotton yarn in a beautiful dark grey and light grey heather.
