... and I must say I am ADDICTED. I know these aren't new in the blogosphere to any extent, but it's new to me, so I thought I'd share. :)
Just to remind you, in case you missed my post about my amazing Goodwill trip earlier this week:
Yes you read that right: I paid One dollar and Ninety-five cents for this lamp. And it worked! No rewiring required!
And... the after...
I had to buy white spray paint, so that was about $4 at my local hardware store, then I painted the all the aged brass colour with black paint and a little paint brush. The lamp shade is silk from Walmart, on clearance for $14, so all in all, I spend about $20 for this lamp.
And I LOVE IT! I'm on the lookout for another one to paint to go on the other side of the bed! SQUEE!
I love your enthusiasm! Your lap is so elegant.
ReplyDeleteIt's really fun to re-do lamps. My father once found a bunch of good lamps at a local Goodwill for $1 ea. (It was approx. 10 years ago.) I did some really fun lamp makeovers including hot-gluing flat-bottomed marbles to the side of one. It was a funky, quick, and useful project.
That looks really, really great! I liked the original orange color too, but the white made it look so much more elegant. Good job!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I loath lamp shopping ... took me a few months to find one for our bedroom that I liked last year. Next time I'm going to the Salvation Army and see what they've got!
ReplyDeleteI just discovered the amazing powers of spray paint this weekend - my "vintage" patio furniture (reality: 1980s leftovers) looks newly fantastic thanks to a few cans of color. I love what you did with the lamp - opening up some new possibilities for me...
ReplyDeleteI did this once back in the day for 4-H, it was so much fun! Maybe I should get back in the saddle...
