{Socks and More Socks}

School has been so freaking stressful lately, that all I've been able to knit is vanilla socks (or near vanilla with this Hermoine's Everyday Socks)

These brown socks were made of Knit Picks Stroll Tonal and I really really enjoyed knitting with it.  They make a sock that's soft, but feels sturdy.  I'm looking forward to see if they wear well because if they do, it might become my new favoritest sock yarn ever.

Here's my ankle socks make from Sock It To Me, only 50 g and with some left over.  I tried the afterthought heel and I liked it, especially for this stripey yarn.

And now that the socks are done, I've tried picking up the 22 Leaves Shawlette. It's a gorgeous pattern but  I just couldn't pay that much attention to that many charts, so today I frogged it in favour of the Autumn Calais Shawl.  The yarn, Madelinetosh Merino  Light, just didn't want to be that shawl though.  It wasn't crisp enough for the main pattern.  After ripping it out for the second time, I cast on Cinnamon Grace which is a much simpler pattern with basically stockinette and a garder stitch border. I'm much happier with it because it's really showing off the colours in this gorgeous Amber Trinket colour.  There are flecks of bright orange and pink amongst the amber colour.

Wish me luck! Picks of that one soon.  Oh... and a little luck will go a long way this semester as school, so if you happen to find any, will you send it my way?

  1. Good luck! I'm sending a ton your way. :-) Knitting helps a lot with school stress, too, but you already know that ;-)

  2. I love the Hermoine socks! That colorway is nice and neutral. I'm making a pair of vanilla socks right now too and I've been bit by the shawlette fever.

  3. I very nearly made a Cinnamon Grace with some alpaca, then realised it has NO memory so made something else. I can't wait to see how you get on with it!

  4. I am sending you luck. My son is also struggling through a tough semester. Chemistry is the subject that is making his life the most difficult.

    Cinnamon Grace looks like a great project for stressful times.
