Giveaway!
And just in time for Christmas knitting to begin! In honour of 100 posts here at studentknitter.blogspot.com I want to send to one random person...
Yarn of course!! Because what do we love more than yarn, really? This is one whole sweater's worth of recycled light fingering to fingering weight, 100% cotton yarn in a beautiful dark grey and light grey heather. I'm don't know precisely how much there is, but it's definitely more than 2000 yards I'd say. It's a LOT.
So! Here's how I'm thinkin' it'll work:
1. Subscribe to my blog and you'll get one entry
2. Link to me from your blog and get one entry (don't forget to leave your blog address for me to see!)
3. Leave me a message in this post about what you love about the blog for one entry
4. Leave a message about what you think I could do better and it'll earn you one more
For a total of 4 possible entries in my Random.com list! I'll make the drawing one week from today on Monday, November 9th!
Good Luck!!

I'm already subscribed to your RSS feed, though I'm not the best at regular commenting. That looks like pretty yarn!

Congratulations! That's some gorgeous yarn. What I love about your blog is that you are super-productive and it inspires me to do more crocheting. I don't think you could do anything better. Does that get me lots of extra points? lol
ReplyDeleteI really like your blog. You seem to be quite productive on getting the Christmas knitting done. I have one scarf left to do before I buy yarn for another and also get back to my market bags. YIKES! Best of luck with yours, and I love your fabric blind replacement post. Very well done!

ReplyDeleteYayyy! I love giveaways. I'm already a subscriber and I'll post about your giveaway on my blog right now! Here's the link to my post http://moltodimodadesigns.blogspot.com/2009/11/giveaway-at-student-knitter.html
ReplyDeleteCongrats!
Lisa: LOL you don't get extra for sucking up! ;)
ReplyDeleteI followed you over from Ravelry and I am glad I did. I like the number of pictures you put in each of your posts...I love to see before, during, after pictures (tho I woefully neglect doing that on Rav projects & my pathetic little blog!) I've signed up to follow, as I also enjoy your style of writing...it's 'happy writing'!
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting on Ravelry. I'm sure I'll enjoy continuing to read about all you do.
Hi! I'm already a follower, and have been enjoying your blog for a while now! That yarn looks lovely... just right to try out my first sweater in :)

My favourite thing about your blog has to be Find a Deal Fridays. I'm so glad you continued with them! I also love hearing about the things that go wrong... frogging, sagging, and all that... as they're things I face a lot, too!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 100 posts! What an accomplishment!
ReplyDeleteI am new to your blog and just wanted to say I am enjoying reading it.
ReplyDeleteThe yarn looks very pretty. Is it blue or black?
Hi, I just found your blog through Ravelry. It's very lovely and your creativity is stunning. In your blog I like your Popeye and Mr. Pie modeling his pumpkin.
ReplyDeleteWhat could you do better? Maybe just set the colour of text in the sidebar little darker for better reading :)
I also put your giveaway on my blog
Thank you for the opportunity to win this lovely yarn.
I like your long list of blogs in the sidebar. I'm always looking to discover new fiber art blogs like yours!
ReplyDeleteI really like this blog because I'm also a student knitter!
ReplyDeleteI just found you and subscribed today.
As for what to do better. . . hmmmmm. . .So far I've liked everything about your blog!
I'm a newcomer to you blog, just subbed via reader. Loving your blog so far!!
ReplyDeleteHey you, so cool you reached a 100. You know I'm following you, so of course I want in on your first giveaway. I really like that I, being a student, can relate to what you are writing about, also your pictures are really good/funny/inspirering... Hmm, I think you fixed the only thing I can think of, that you could change, already (find a deal friday). I'll link to you on my blog as well, hope to see you reach a 1000 and beyond. ReplyDeleteJust me again... Is it too expensive to ship to Scandinavia? I didn't even think about it... Well let me know so I can post it on my blog...

RSSing you now.
ReplyDeleteI quite like the fact that you have lots and lots of pictures, it makes the posts really interesting. Your layout is clear and simple, which I always like.
However, (this is my improvement suggestion), I have noticed that some of them are hotlinked, and you really should save them to your own space before linking them online, for the precious bandwidths (some sites do allow you hotlinking, but not all of them do).
My absolutely most favourite thing about your blog is the shrimp fettuccine. It's made me really hungry!

Blogged about you on my Wool-less Wednesday Post!

Love this Blue yarn. I love all types of blues. This would make a nice pair of socks I think.
ReplyDeleteAlso like blogs as it gives one a more personal look at what people are doing creatively!
I would add a favorite Patterns link. Ones that have been tried and or you just think you would like to try.
ReplyDeleteAlso maybe add a link for best places to get the best deals for yarn.
Congrats on reaching 100!
ReplyDeleteI found you through the Dominant Hands blog, and just had to check out the Student Knitter, since my blog (and Rav name) is Knits in Class :)
Congrats on blog #100. I know how much that means. I hope to get there one day myself. I need to blog more consistently myself, so I linked to your blog hoping it would remind me to publish a bit ore myself.
ReplyDeleteHi there, I just found your post in Ravelry~ where I live~ LOL, and I think it's great and very kind that your offering this giveaway! I'm always looking through blogs to see which is the best ones to follow, where I can meet new fiber friends, and learn new techniques in knitting, and I hope to find a new place to hang here, thanks so much and fleecy huggys~ Dora :)
ReplyDelete100 posts! Wow! I like all the photos you include and I enjoy find a deal Fridays, I think I found my beloved pearl stitch markers through one of those posts!
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures and I think you knit beautifully. :o)
ReplyDeleteI can see a vest in my future...if I get that yarn! I'm already a follower of your blog, and I'll be sure to mention it in mine today. I haven't tried lately but with my (really retro) dial-up connection the RSS feed is beyond my capability/patience. What I like about your blog (keep in mind the dial-up issue) is that it's generally not too picture-heavy. I'm not sure what you could change about the blog to make it better; I think it may be a fair reflection of who you are at this time in your life.
ReplyDeleteAwesome blog, I had not noticed studentknitter.blogspot.com before during my searches!
ReplyDeleteContinue the fantastic work!
